On September 13-14, 2024 at 11.00 a.m., the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan is holding an International scientific conference on the topic «Discourse of Tolerance in the Tradition and Culture of Islam: Historical and Contemporary Contexts».

The international scientific conference is held as part of the implementation of the research project on the topic «Architectonics of Islamic Tolerance in Kazakhstan: Experience of Communication and Interfaith Dialogue» within the framework of grant funding from the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the international scientific conference is to study and discuss the concept of tolerance in Islamic tradition and culture, analyze its historical roots and modern manifestations, as well as identify the potential of Islamic tolerance to solve urgent problems of interfaith and intercultural dialogue.

The main scientific areas of the discussed topics of the international scientific conference:

1. Conceptual foundations of tolerance in Islamic philosophy and theology.

2. Interconfessional dialogue in the Islamic tradition: history and modernity.

3. Tolerance in the context of Islamic education and upbringing.

4. Modern challenges and prospects for the development of Islamic tolerance.

5. The role of Islamic tolerance in the prevention of extremism and radicalization.

Working languages of the conference: Kazakh, Russian, English.

The text of the report must be submitted by September 10, 2024, no more than 6 pages. It is planned to publish the materials of the international scientific conference in the form of a collection.

Article requirements: The text must be typed in Word. Font – Times New Roman, 14 pt, single line spacing, all margins – 2 cm, paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm.

At the beginning of the article, it is necessary to place the title, full name and information about the author/authors (academic degree, academic title, position, place of work, e-mail). Below, after 1 interval, in 14 font sizes, the title of the report in Kazakh and Russian is indicated.

References to literary sources are given in numbers in direct brackets as they are mentioned [1, p. 15]. The list of references is given after the main text. The file is saved in doc or docx format. File name – given by the author's surname. For example, Aidarov.doc.
