On March 18, the Center for World and Kazakh Philosophy of the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies held a round table on the topic “Nauryz as a Mirror of National Identity: From Ancient Roots to Modern Self-Awareness.”

The main objective of the event was to examine Nauryz as a significant symbol of national consciousness and social unity, as well as to define its role in the context of contemporary transformations.

During the round table, participants comprehensively explored the historical and cultural foundations of Nauryz, its role in strengthening social cohesion and unity, and its transformation within the system of modern values. The participants emphasized the connection of the holiday with processes of spiritual renewal, its significance as a cultural code, and its potential in shaping national identity.

In addition, issues related to the interaction between national and religious identity, the representation of Nauryz in visual culture, including cinema and media space, as well as the continuity between tradition and modern society were analyzed from a scholarly perspective. Drawing on their research, the speakers particularly highlighted the role of Nauryz in reinforcing the values of social justice, solidarity, and mutual respect.

The event concluded with a substantive exchange of views, underscoring the need for further study of Nauryz as an important mechanism for strengthening national identity.
