Natalya Seytakhmetova, Chief Researcher at IPhPR, emphasized the importance of enshrining the principles of secularism in the articles of the new draft Constitution. She described these provisions as “smart secularism,” which “reinforces the values of civil society, such as freedom of conscience, a culture of dialogue, and the principles of tolerance. This value-based foundation helps society remain united while preserving the diversity of viewpoints in the new ontological reality.”
Anatoly Kosichenko, Chief Researcher at the IPhPR Center for Religious Studies, highlighted the significance of the new Constitution project in strengthening the moral foundations of public life, such as “respect for human dignity, mutual responsibility, and a culture of dialogue.” According to him, “the positive role of religion lies in supporting spirituality, compassion, and solidarity, which unite people and help maintain social harmony.”
