This monograph comprehensively analyses gender equality in Islam, using a historical, theoretical, conceptual and contemporary practical approach. It explores the differences between Western and Islamic feminisms from a comparative perspective, examining the legacy of the Soviet period and the position of women in Kazakh traditions, and analyzing the views of male scholars on women's issues. The experience of «gender democracy» in Arab countries, such as Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the UAE is also examined, as well as the role of women in the digital environment. This monograph was prepared as part of grant project No. AP19676979 of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Gender Equality in Islam: Islamic Feminism and Traditionalism».
