Political analyst Aydar Amrebayev said that this year on the 1st, on the first Thursday of February, World Election Day is traditionally celebrated, established as part of the General Conference of Election Organizers held on September 14-17, 2005 in Budapest (Hungary).

The Association of Election Organizers of Europe (AOVCE), as professionals in the organization and conduct of elections, establishing World Election Day, aimed to draw people's attention to the problem of ensuring the electoral rights of citizens and improving electoral processes.
