Today, Almaty hosted the expert platform “The Kurultai as the Foundation of a New Architecture of Legislative Power,” organized by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event brought together representatives of government agencies, leading think tanks, the academic community, universities, civil society organizations, and experts.

1️⃣ The first session focused on the constitutional transformation of the Kurultai, the improvement of legislative processes, and the development of expert and analytical support. Aigul Sadvokassova, Director General of the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies, emphasized that the Kurultai has the potential to become a platform for aligning political party values with national interests by fostering interaction among the state, political parties, the expert community, civil society, and the regions.

2️⃣ The second session addressed international experience in parliamentary engagement with society, mechanisms for public participation in the activities of the Kurultai, the development of digital services, and new formats for dialogue between the state and citizens. The session was moderated by Aidar Amrebayev, Head of the Center for Comparative Political Studies at the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies.

Researchers from the Institute also took part in the expert platform.

At the conclusion of the event, participants emphasized that greater openness in the legislative process, broad public participation, professional expert support, and the use of modern digital technologies will contribute to strengthening public trust in state institutions.
