On May 06, 2024, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a round table on the topic: "80 years of Victory in World War II: historical memory and justice in the context of international turbulence." The event was organized by the IFPR Center for Political Studies. The purpose of the round table is a scientific understanding and a comprehensive discussion of the significance of Victory in World War II through the prism of historical memory, social justice and geopolitical changes in the modern world.

In the context of increasing international turbulence, accompanied by a revision of established historical narratives, the intensification of the practices of historical revisionism and the growth of conflict potential in global relations, the analysis of the phenomenon of the Second World War as an element of historical memory and a source of civilizational landmarks is particularly relevant.

The following areas were discussed during the event:

• Victory as an event in the collective memory of mankind: interpretations and challenges; • Historical truth and political manipulation: how to maintain scientific objectivity in the era of "post-truth";

• The evolution of scientific discourse and the methodology of historical knowledge;

• Perception of the Second World War by modern youth .

The event was attended by leading experts — political scientists, sociologists and economists of the Institute, who shared their professional experience and analytical views on the topics discussed.
