Extended Meeting in Memory of a Prominent Representative of Kazakh Philosophy  Abdimalik Nysanbayev
On February 26, 2026, an extended meeting dedicated to Academician, prominent scholar, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, and Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan Abdimalik Nysanbayev was held at the Center for World and Kazakh Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies.

The meeting began with an opening address by the Director General of the Institute, A.K. Sadvokasova. The academician’s colleagues and students — Prof. T.Kh. Gabitov, Prof. G.Zh. Nurysheva, Prof. N.L. Seitakhmetova, Prof. Z.S. Aidarbekov, and Prof. B.M. Satershinov — took part in the event and shared warm memories of his scholarly legacy and moral character.

During the meeting, chaired by G.G. Barlybayeva, organizational issues related to the preparation and implementation of events dedicated to his upcoming 90th anniversary in 2027 were discussed.

▪️ Abdimalik Nysanbayev was born on May 1, 1937, in Karauyltobe village, Syrdarya District, Kyzylorda Region, and passed away on February 21, 2023, at the age of 86. He devoted his entire conscious life to the development of national philosophical science.

From 1961 to 1976, he worked at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, advancing through all stages of academic service and eventually becoming Head of Department. From 1991 to 2011, he served as Director of the Institute, playing a key role in the institutional formation of Kazakh philosophy during the years of independence.

His research covered dialectical logic, philosophy and methodology of science, Kazakh and Turkic philosophy, as well as social and political philosophy. He published more than 570 scholarly works and 30 monographs and supervised the training of 65 Doctors of Science and more than 100 Candidates of Science.

On his initiative, the Department of the History of Kazakh Philosophy was established in 1991. Fundamental works such as “Thinkers of the Kazakh Steppe” (4 volumes) and “History of Kazakh Philosophy” (5 volumes) were published. Under his academic supervision, a 62-volume collection was released within the framework of the state program “Cultural Heritage.”

Academician Nysanbayev’s scientific and public activities were highly recognized by the state. He was awarded State Prizes, the Orders of “Parasat” and “Dostyk,” as well as numerous international honors.

Abdimalik Nysanbayev was an outstanding figure who faithfully served the people and the state and laid the institutional foundations of Kazakh philosophy. His scientific legacy and spiritual example will remain forever in the memory of future generations.
