Comparative analysis of factors affecting the happiness of the population of Kazakhstan in the context of regions

The subjective well-being of citizens and their attitude to various spheres of public life is an important indicator of the state of society.

The project is aimed at identifying factors affecting the level of happiness of the population in the context of regions and developing recommendations for managing the quality of life of the population. The project implementation will allow to compare the level of well-being of different countries and identified common trends and differences that will affect the regions, to determine the state of interrelation of institutional, value circumstances and happiness of the population in the context of regions, to identify the specifics of the impact of viability factors on the happiness of the population in the regions of the country, to clarify the values, needs and priorities of the population in the regions of Kazakhstan.

The research within the framework of the postdoctoral program is a continuation of the dissertation work on "Sociological measurement of the level of happiness in Kazakhstan (on the example of urban and rural settlements)" and a deeper study of the problem of happiness in the context of regions.

To achieve this goal, the project will divide the factors affecting the happiness of the population into 4 (four) levels: macro-social and macroeconomic factors, institutional and value factors, viability factors, functional factors.

Recommendations developed as a result of the project will be sent to the relevant government agencies and will contribute to expanding the improvement of population quality of life management through the identified factors affecting happiness when applied in practice.
