“The Phenomenon of Abai and New Cognitive Horizons,”
Dedicated to the 180th Anniversary of Hakim Abai
On April 10, 2025, the city of Shymkent hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Auezov Readings – 23: The Phenomenon of Abai and New Cognitive Horizons,” dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great thinker Hakim Abai. The event was organized by M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
As part of the conference, Serik Esentaevich Nurmuratov, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, and Director of the Center for Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a meaningful presentation titled: “The Problem of the Human in Kazakh Philosophy and the Philosophy of Abai.”
The conference featured contemporary philosophical reflections and academic perspectives on Abai’s legacy through new research approaches. The event was held at an international level, with participation from scholars from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia, and other countries, who also gave welcome speeches.

This conference served as a significant platform for rethinking Abai’s philosophical legacy in the context of modern challenges and for promoting spiritual and philosophical values in a new cognitive dimension.
