Expert Meeting with Professor of the University of Helsinki
On 14 November, the Institute held an expert meeting with Teivo Teivainen, Professor of World Politics at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Helsinki and Chair of the National Commission of Finland for UNESCO (since 2023). The scholar is widely recognized for his interdisciplinary research in global politics and has received several prestigious awards, including the Amartya Sen Prize (Yale University) and the Terence K. Hopkins Award of the American Sociological Association.

During the meeting, Professor Teivainen presented an analysis of key contemporary trends in political research that are shaping the global academic agenda. The Institute’s researchers actively engaged in the discussion, asking questions and offering their own analytical perspectives, which contributed to a dynamic and substantive exchange.

The conversation addressed the evolution of the international agenda, the impact of technological change on political processes, and the role of interdisciplinary approaches in studying modern challenges. Special attention was given to the transformation of political participation, decision-making mechanisms, and research practices in an era of rapid global change.

The Institute plans to continue organizing expert meetings aimed at fostering professional dialogue and strengthening research cooperation.
