On April 24, 2026, the grand opening of the research center “Uly Dala Akademiyasy” took place at AlmaU. This new intellectual platform, aimed at rethinking the legacy of steppe civilization in the context of contemporary global challenges, has been established as an interdisciplinary space for dialogue, bringing together scholars, educators, cultural figures, and public leaders.
The event brought together academics, public figures, representatives of Kazakhstan’s scholarly community, and international experts, including historians, philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, educators, writers, and researchers.
From the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies, staff members of the Center for Kazakh and World Philosophy participated in the event, led by Director General Aigul Sadvokassova.
A special highlight of the program was the speech by Chinara Aitmatova, granddaughter of the outstanding writer Chingiz Aitmatov. She emphasized the importance of humanitarian cooperation among the peoples of Central Asia, the spiritual heritage of the Turkic world, and the role of education in strengthening cultural ties between countries in the region.
During one of the panel discussions, issues of identity, historical memory, cultural heritage, and the prospects for the development of the humanities were addressed. Director General Aigul Sadvokassova also contributed to the discussion.
