The Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies presents its updated logo, reflecting the institution’s scientific mission, history, and core values. As a leading research center in the country, the Institute continues to shape intellectual guidelines and study processes that influence worldviews, spiritual values, and the socio-political development of Kazakhstan. By integrating philosophical, political science, and religious studies research, the Institute contributes to the development of scientific culture and the formation of a mature civil society.
The new logo is designed in the form of a classic academic chevron, symbolizing continuity, stability, and scholarly authority. At its center is a stylized Tree of Knowledge—an image representing the evolution of human thought and the unity of the Institute’s three key research directions. The branching crown of the tree emphasizes the diversity of academic schools, ideas, and worldviews, as well as the close interconnection of the humanities disciplines.
At the base of the composition lies an open book—a universal symbol of knowledge, academic wisdom, and the pursuit of truth, representing the Institute’s educational and research mission.
Above the Tree of Knowledge is a four-pointed star, symbolizing guidance in scientific inquiry, the pursuit of enlightenment, and spiritual development. The oval frame contains the full name of the institution and the year of its foundation—1958—highlighting continuity and decades of contribution to the development of national academic thought.
The introduction of the new logo marks an important step in modernizing the Institute’s visual identity and strengthening its presence in the academic and public spheres.
