On September 29, 2025, as part of an academic research visit, employees of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies – Chief Researcher Gaukhar Barlybayeva, Leading Researcher Gulnar Nusipova, and Research Fellows Aiman Keldinova and Shynar Bakytzhan – visited the British Library in London. The visit took place within the framework of a grant-funded research project.
During the trip, a meeting was held with Dr. Michael Erdman, Head of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Collections at the British Library.
The Institute’s staff contributed seven publications on Central Asian studies to the Library’s collection, prepared by IPhPR:
• Philosophical Ethics of the Kazakhs (monograph, author – G. G. Barlybayeva, 2018);
• The Concept of the “Perfect Man” in Abai’s Philosophical Teachings and the Modern Era (collective monograph, 2022);
• Abai. Words of Edification (in Latin script, 2025);
• The Religious and Moral Heritage of Mashkhur Zhusip Kopeuly in the Spiritual Renewal of Kazakhstani Society (collective monograph, 2024);
• The Religious Views of Mashkhur Zhusip Kopeuly (monograph, author – A. D. Shagyrbai, 2022);
• Gender Equality in Kazakh Tradition and Islam (collection of roundtable materials, IFPR, 2024);
• The Discourse of Tolerance in the Tradition and Culture of Islam: Historical and Contemporary Contexts (collection of roundtable materials, IPhPR, 2024).
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on further cooperation.
