Scientific Seminar within the Project on Studying the Happiness of Kazakhstan’s Population
On November 11, 2025, as part of the project “Comparative Analysis of Factors Affecting the Happiness of Kazakhstan’s Population across Regions,” a scientific seminar was held to discuss preliminary results and methodological approaches to studying subjective well-being.

The seminar brought together doctoral and master’s students focusing on social policy, sociology, regional development, and philosophy.

Key topics of the seminar included:
• Regional differences in the population’s subjective well-being;
• The role of socio-economic and infrastructure factors in shaping the sense of happiness;
• Differences in life quality perceptions between urban and rural populations;
• Methodological aspects of measuring subjective well-being;
• Opportunities for applying results in regional social policy development.

The project leader, Shyryn Tlenchieva, delivered the main presentation, offering insightful interpretations of interregional differences and outlining promising directions for further research.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants expressed interest in expanding the empirical database and developing practical recommendations for government and local authorities to improve the population’s subjective well-being.

The seminar served as an important platform for scientific dialogue and exchange of ideas, confirming the relevance of the topic and its significance for Kazakhstan’s social development.
