National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a strategic session titled “Foresight of Science and Technology in Kazakhstan: From Data to Decisions”, dedicated to the development of a national system of foresight research and predictive analytics in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

The event aimed to establish an integrated system of scientific and technological forecasting at both national and regional levels.

As part of the session, the information and analytical system AI SilkNet was presented — a predictive analytics and foresight tool designed to support decision-making in science and technology policy, identify priority areas for scientific and technological development, and build long-term scientific and industrial strategies.

A key highlight of the event was the official opening of the Kazakhstan–Korean AI SilkNet Center — a joint initiative of the National Academy of Sciences and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).

More than 400 participants took part in the strategic session, including leading international and domestic scholars, representatives of sectoral ministries, local executive bodies, industry, heads of universities and research institutes, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”, as well as industry associations and unions.

On behalf of the Institute, the event was attended by Deputy Director General Yermek Toktarov and Research Fellow Aidana Serikbayeva.
