On May 28, 2025, a meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Science Committee under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. The meeting was moderated by the Institute’s Academic Secretary, Dinara Zhanabayeva.

During the session, the new personal composition of the Academic Council was presented for discussion. Following a brief exchange of views and deliberations, the proposed composition was approved by open vote.

Aigul Sadvokasova, the Director General of the Institute, was approved as Chair of the Academic Council, and Sholpan Jamanbalayeva, Deputy Director, was approved as Deputy Chair.

In the course of discussions on the implementation of research projects carried out under the program-targeted and fundamental research funding of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2025, a report was delivered by First Deputy Director for Research, Sholpan Jamanbalayeva. In her presentation, she shared information on achieved results, the current status of projects, and prospects for further scientific activity.

Deputy Director Ules Nysanbek presented the financial outcomes of the projects, provided economic forecasts, and outlined the Institute’s next steps within the existing programs.

The following internal regulatory documents were also discussed and unanimously approved during the meeting:

• Regulation on voluntary, unpaid research internships for doctoral students at the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies;

• Regulation on the Commission for the Quality and Ethics of Scientific Research, along with the composition of the commission.

Among other matters, Chief Researcher and Doctor of Economic Sciences Vyacheslav Dodonov presented the contents of his scientific monograph. Council members noted the high academic quality and relevance of the work.

The meeting concluded with a ceremonial awarding of the Institute’s Chief Researcher Zarema Shaukenova with the Anniversary Medal “30 Years of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan” in recognition of her contributions to strengthening interethnic harmony and dialogue in Kazakhstani society.
