In June 2026, researchers from the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies took part in a series of international expert events in the People’s Republic of China dedicated to Kazakhstan–China cooperation, the digital economy, and modernization processes.

On June 11, a seminar titled “China–Kazakhstan Cooperation in the Digital and Green Economy” was held in Hangzhou at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. The event brought together representatives of think tanks, research institutes, universities, and business communities from Kazakhstan and China.

 Representing the Institute, Aydar Amrebayev, Head of the Center for Comparative Political Studies, and Senior Research Fellow Ruslan Izimov participated in the seminar. During the first session, Ruslan Izimov delivered a presentation on the prospects for Kazakhstan–China cooperation in the field of the digital economy.

The 3rd Kazakhstan–China Think Tank Forum was also held in Beijing. The forum was jointly organized by the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Participants discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including economic interaction, investment, transport and logistics connectivity, education, and cultural and humanitarian ties.

Aydar Amrebayev and Ruslan Izimov delivered presentations on modernization processes in Kazakhstan and China. In particular, Ruslan Izimov presented a comparative analysis of modernization in the two countries.

Participation in these events made an important contribution to the development of expert dialogue and the strengthening of scientific and analytical cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
