Conference “Central Asia and the SCO” Held in Shanghai with Participation of IPhPR Scholars
On September 13, 2025, an international conference titled “Central Asia and the SCO” was held in Shanghai, organized by the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. The event brought together leading experts from SCO member states, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, China, and India.

Kazakhstan was represented by a delegation of leading experts from the Center of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the CS MOHES RK — Aidar Amrebayev, Yuri Buluktaev, and Ruslan Izimov. The conference discussions focused on the outcomes of the SCO Summit in Tianjin and the prospects for further multilateral cooperation.

Speaking at the first session, A. Amrebayev highlighted China’s global initiatives and the role of the SCO in their implementation. Chinese experts, in turn, highly praised the initiatives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev voiced at the Tianjin SCO Summit. Some participants also proposed new avenues for cooperation within specific joint research projects.

In conclusion, participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration and expanding cooperation between research institutes of SCO member states.
