Meeting of the Republican Scientific and Expert Council in the Syrdarya Region
On October 8, 2025, the city of Kyzylorda hosted the international scientific and practical conference “The Syrdarya Region at the Crossroads of Eras: History and Heritage,” dedicated to two significant anniversaries — the 100th anniversary of Kyzylorda’s designation as the capital of Kazakhstan and the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

As part of the conference, a meeting of the Republican Scientific and Expert Council was held. The event was organized by the Department of Public Development of the Kyzylorda Region, the “Қоғамдық келісім” Public Institution, and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

Historians, scholars, doctoral students, educators, and local historians from across the country took part in the conference sessions.

Discussions focused on the historical development of the Syrdarya region, Kyzylorda’s period as the capital, the contribution of the Alash intelligentsia to nation-building, and the preservation of archaeological and cultural heritage.

The meeting was attended by Aigul Sadvokassova, Doctor of Sociology, General Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Chairperson of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

In her address, Aigul Kakimbekovna emphasized the importance of actively engaging youth in interethnic relations, developing expert activities in the digital environment, and involving young researchers in the Council’s work. She also highlighted the need for studying ethnodemographic and ethnodynamic processes and implementing research projects aimed at strengthening harmony and unity in society.

She concluded by noting that scientifically grounded initiatives of the Council play a crucial role in shaping national identity and fostering social cohesion, adding that systematic efforts in this direction will be continued.
