Meeting with Prominent Representative of the Kazakh Diaspora Kayyum Kesici
On September 23, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies hosted an inspiring meeting with scholar Abdul Kayyum Kesici, a distinguished representative of the Kazakh diaspora abroad.

Kayyum Kesici graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the Istanbul Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences (now Marmara University) in 1979 and earned his PhD in Political Science at Istanbul University in 1999. He worked in the Kazakh service of Radio “Azattyk” in Munich (1980–1995), taught at universities in Turkey from 2001 onward, and served as President of the Federation of European Kazakh Associations (FEKA) from 2008 to 2017. He is the author of the book “Kazakhstan: Past, Present and Future”, as well as numerous publications in Kazakh, Turkish, English, and German. Currently, Kayyum Kesici continues his research work.

During the conversation, participants discussed the experiences of Kazakhs abroad, as well as the role of media and academic communities in preserving identity. The meeting demonstrated that the history of the Kazakh diaspora is not only about the past, but also about current strategies in cultural diplomacy, academic exchange, and the development of expert networks.
