On December 9, an extended working meeting was held at the Center for Religious Studies of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies (IPhPR). The meeting reviewed the progress of religious studies research projects planned for completion by the end of the year, key results achieved, and tasks set for the upcoming period. Participants thoroughly discussed the implementation of the center’s current scientific projects, their practical significance, and ways to improve the quality of scientific-analytical outputs.
Leading researchers of the center — Anatoly Kosichenko, Elena Burova, Natalia Seitakhmetova, and Bakhytzhan Satershinov — took part in the meeting. Each expert not only presented a brief report on the work conducted within their respective areas but also proposed substantive recommendations regarding the structure, content, and target audience of the methodological seminars in religious studies planned for next year.
The scholars emphasized that, when forming the thematic line of the seminars, it is essential to consider changes in the current religious landscape, updates in research methods, the informational needs of society, and the necessity to enhance the professional qualifications of specialists. In addition, concrete proposals were made on systematically developing a seminar calendar, ensuring the coherence of topics, increasing the number of practical case studies, and taking regional specificities into account.
