At a meeting on the aftermath of the earthquake in Almaty, the President made an important point: a hearing state needs a hearing society. It so happens that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev often has to act as a crisis manager – all sorts of extraordinary events in the country fall to his lot as President. In the situation with the earthquake in Almaty, the President, in my opinion, personally, as a citizen and an Almaty resident, perceived what happened after arriving in his hometown. This characterizes him as a responsible politician who responds to specific circumstances in order to make decisions useful to society.
