А SOURCE OF CONFIDENCE AND OPTIMISM

On September 1, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev delivered a Message to the people of Kazakhstan. The speech of the head of state covered all aspects of society’s life and presented the main tasks for the coming years: economic development in the post-pandemic period, increasing the efficiency of the health care system, quality education, improving regional policy, forming an effective ecosystem in the labor market, political modernization and legal protection in society.

Paying close attention to education issues, the President highlighted the existence of acquired knowledge obsolescence problem before a graduate is involved in their practical application. Since the emergence of the information explosion phenomenon in the 20th century, production of information has taken on an avalanche-like character, exacerbated by the unprecedented speed of its dissemination, caused in turn by revolutionary changes in the field of high technologies. The amount of scientific data and methodological updates is increasing every year, so efficiency of work requires a constant presence in information field and tracking all the changes that are taking place. The head of state voiced the need to adapt curricula to new conditions and retrain teachers every three years, instead of the current five years program.

Qasym-Jomart Toqayev emphasized the important role of teachers in the process of upbringing and education of the younger generation. “They should be the bearers of new knowledge, real educators”, the President says. A responsible mission should be carried out by motivated and qualified teachers at all levels of education. The value of a teacher devoted to his profession, involved in the continuous process of his own competence improvement and striving to captivate his students with creative activity, a thirst for scientific discoveries and personal development, is immeasurable for the education system and society as a whole.

The implementation of the aforementioned proposals will lead to the growth of intellectual and spiritual capital, which in turn will cause positive changes in society and an individual citizen’s life.
